Adam and Ashley Barlow-Thompson

Adam and Ashley are a clergy couple serving in the Great Plains Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church they have had the pleasure of learning Process Communication Model and Leading Out of Drama from Next Element, LCC in Newton, KS.  They have a young son and enjoy playing music together. With their neighbors, Adam and Ashley co-founded Neighboring Movement, a nonprofit in Wichita, KS.

Adam is a graduate of Southwestern College and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.  He served for 6 years as the Executive Pastor at Woodlawn UMC in Derby, KS, and created a PCM-based worship service called Swerve.  Adam is a certified trainer and provider of Process Communication Model, Servants by Design, and Leading Out of Drama. In 2016 Adam left the local church to become a full-time trainer/facilitator and to support the nonprofit Neighboring Movement which he founded with Ashley and their neighbors.

Adam loves playing banjo and laughing loudly. He can be seen around the neighborhood playing music on the front porch or riding his bike to the office.  Adam is always up for a story or a laugh and is an eternal optimist when it comes to his neighborhood. Adam is married to Ashley and they have a son named Prescott.

Ashley is a graduate of North Central College in Naperville, Il and Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Il.  Ashley is an ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church and serves as the Director of Outreach at Calvary UMC in Wichita, KS.  Ashley is a certified trainer of Process Communication Model and Servants by Design.

Ashley is a loyal friend and child whisperer.  Ashley loves to read fiction and knit blankets for new babies. She is a fierce advocate for children and moms and has a creative knack for finding ways to engage kids in the neighborhood. Ashley is musical and is the best vocalist of the SoCe Life band Brutal Bear. Ashley is married to Adam (above) and loves playing legos, doing puzzles, and exploring the neighborhood with their son, Prescott.
